About Tony
Tony Kent, who is also known as Salih, was an internationally known fashion photographer for over 25 years, working for many of the top magazines including Elle, Rolling Stone, and Vogue. He lived and worked in Paris, France for most of that time.
Born in the USA in 1941, he grew up in New Jersey, attending private schools and living a traditional, upper middle class life. As a boy, he attended Sunday school and church, and by his late teens had pretty much given up on believing in the existence of God. Just at the time he reached the top of the fashion industry, his brother died in an accident, and he gave up his business and moved to India, searching for truth and the meaning of life.
In the years that followed, he traveled extensively, making a study of all the great religions with a lot of passion and commitment. He returned to the states in the mid-eighties, building the American dream with a beautiful wife, four wonderful children and significant material success. And then, in a shocking surprise his wife felt the need to leave their marriage, which she did, and he found himself alone, with four children and a shattered and broken heart.
Working with psychiatrists, therapists, shamans, healers, spiritual leaders from many different paths and anyone else available to listen to his woes, it wasn’t until he was introduced to the Sufi master from Jerusalem that he was given the practical tools and timeless wisdom that enabled him to reconstruct his life. Its reconstruction proved to be a great blessing, opening the way to deeper joy, peace, health and love than the author had ever tasted. He hopes that in sharing his story, others may find hope and deep blessings as well.
The author is a well-known and highly acclaimed network marketer. A multimillion dollar earner in the industry, he has traveled widely, giving marketing and management seminars to thousands of cities all across America and Canada, to people who are interested in increasing their wealth and flexibility by building home-based businesses. He is the self-published author of “Walking in Awareness,” a book about personal growth through network marketing that has over 8,000 copies in distribution, most of them having been sold through seminars and a website.
The author is an expert magician, who successfully created and produced a one-man show called “Magical Moments.” Using magic as a metaphor Tony created an unforgettable transformational experience, for corporate and public events. The Santa Fe New Mexican wrote “Tony Kent does magic to awaken the spirit.”
He currently lives in San Anselmo, Ca, where he runs a non-profit he founded over a decade ago, The Shadduli Center, which helps disseminate the teachings he writes about here to a community that numbers in the thousands. Each year, for six months, he organizes bookings and travels with his teacher, Sidi, on a teaching tour to cities throughout America.
